Four changes worth knowing before you start
None of them is cosmetic. They change how you edit, what you pay for and where you buy it.
You edit in the editor, not in files
There is no markup to hand-edit and no build step. Text, links, images, icons, colours and behaviour are controls in a block settings panel, and headers, footers and page titles are records you build the same way.
A licence counted in websites
Starter covers 3 websites at $39 a year, Pro 10 at $89 and Agency 100 at $199. It renews once a year at the price on your invoice, and there is no lifetime plan. How that differs from a one-time ThemeForest licence.
Two products, two shops
Canvas HTML is sold on ThemeForest by SemiColonWeb. Canvas for WordPress is sold through CanvasWP at canvaswp.com, with its own dashboard, its own keys, its own updates and its own support.
Expiry pauses the service
If a licence lapses, every block keeps rendering and nothing is hidden from visitors. What pauses is updates, new demo imports, AI generation and editing of premium blocks, until you renew.
There is no converter, and we would rather say so here
Nothing reads an HTML page and turns it into WordPress content. Canvas does not ship a converter and does not plan one, because a static page carries no record of what its parts were meant to be. A Canvas HTML site is rebuilt in WordPress: import the demo closest to your design, then move your content over.

- Move your text into the blocks, upload your images to the media library and rebuild the menu

Several unrelated products share the name
If you searched for Canvas and WordPress together you will have met at least three. This is the one made by the studio you bought the HTML template from.
Not the WooThemes Canvas theme
That was a different theme from a different company and it has been retired. Nothing here is a continuation of it, and none of its settings or shortcodes apply.
Not the free Canvas plugin
The free Canvas plugin on WordPress.org is an unrelated product that happens to share the word. The demos, blocks and plans on this site belong to this theme alone.
