A real estate WordPress theme for your own listings
Two complete websites ship with Canvas: an agency site whose 10 properties are records a search can filter, and a development sold off the plan. There is no MLS or IDX feed and no CRM in the theme, so this is for an agent, a small brokerage or a developer listing its own stock.
Two property websites, ready to import
One is an agency listing houses, apartments and offices. The other is a single development selling its own units. Both import as working sites, down to the inner pages and the records behind the cards. Preview either one live before you buy.

Real Estate · 9 pagesA property is a record, not a page you rebuild
The Real Estate demo registers a Properties content type on import. One record holds the price and its period, whether it is for sale or to rent, the location, the bedrooms, the bathrooms, the floor area, the gallery, the video, the map, the amenity list and the contact shown on it. Every card, every listing row and the property's own page read from that record.
- 10 properties in the demo, filed by property type and by location
- Property types for villas, apartments, offices, estates, commercial, residential, each with an archive of its own
- Change a price or an amenity once and the card, the listing and the property page all follow
- A badge such as For Sale, Monthly Rental or Hot Deal is a field on the record, so it changes in a dropdown
The search filters the records you published
The search panel on the home page is a Canvas Form that sends its criteria to the Listing page as an ordinary web request, and the listing block narrows the properties to match. Nothing is fetched from a third party: it searches what is on your site.
- Buy or rent, location, property type, bedrooms, bathrooms, a price range and a floor area range
- The criteria travel in the address, so a filtered listing can be bookmarked and sent straight to a buyer
- A search that matches nothing shows a message you write, not an empty page
- It sits in the hero of all three home designs and at the top of the listing page, with buy and rent as tabs on one of them
No MLS feed, no IDX, no CRM
A multipurpose theme should not claim a listings network it does not have. Canvas ships the pages, the property records, the search over those records and the forms that bring an enquiry in. A syndicated feed, a lead pipeline and a viewing scheduler are somebody else's software.
- No MLS or IDX feed: the site lists the properties you enter, and nothing is pulled in from a board
- No CRM: enquiries are stored in WordPress and can post to a webhook, which is where your CRM picks them up
- No viewing scheduler or booking engine: the demo ships enquiry and reserve forms instead
- What that leaves is the right fit for a solo agent, a small brokerage or a developer with its own stock
Harrington Residences sells 4 residence types off the plan
The second demo is a developer's launch site. Each residence type is a record carrying its size, its price, the bedrooms, the bathrooms, the aspect, the levels it sits on and the deposit terms, so the residences page and each type's own page read the same figures.
- Studio, one bedroom, two bedroom and penthouse, each with its own record and page
- Amenities, Neighbourhood, Construction Timeline and The Developer pages
- A Register Interest page and form that emails the sales address and keeps the entry
- A Press page carrying 5 project updates
What an agency site needs behind the photographs
The listing page has stock in it
An import brings the inner pages, the menus, the forms and the property records together, so nobody lands on an empty listing while you catch up.
Edited in WordPress itself
A price, an amenity, a headline: each one is a field in the editor WordPress ships. No page builder to learn, and none to renew.
Reversible
Canvas logs everything an import writes. Delete Demo Data clears it again, so trying the agency and then the development costs you nothing.
Copy help included
Forty property descriptions is a week nobody wants. Canvas AI drafts and rewrites text in any block field, with monthly credits on every plan.
Property websites, asked plainly
Answers that hold for the two property demos as shipped, including the parts Canvas does not do.
Does Canvas connect to an MLS or IDX feed?
No, Canvas has no MLS or IDX integration, and none is planned as part of the theme. The Real Estate demo lists the properties you publish on your own site, as records you enter and edit in WordPress. If a syndicated feed is the point of your website, a specialist listings theme or an IDX plugin is the right tool and this page will not pretend otherwise.
Is a CRM or a lead pipeline included?
No: the demo's contact, quick quote and reserve forms are Canvas Forms that keep every enquiry in WordPress and email it to the address you set, and any Canvas Form can also post to a webhook or add the address to Mailchimp. That webhook is where a CRM belongs, so leads land in the tool your office runs on and nowhere else.
How is a property stored?
As a record in the Properties content type the Canvas Real Estate demo registers on import. Each one carries its price and period, buy or rent, its location, bedrooms, bathrooms, floor area, a photo gallery, a video, a map, an amenity list and the contact shown on the listing, with a photograph. The listing page, the cards and the property's own page all read from that one record, so a price change is one edit.
Does the property search actually work?
Yes, on your own records: the search is a Canvas Form that sends its criteria to the Listing page as a normal web request, and the listing block narrows the properties to match: buy or rent, location, property type, bedrooms, bathrooms, a price range and a floor area range. Because the criteria travel in the address, a filtered listing survives being bookmarked, pasted into an email or sent to a buyer.
Who is this demo actually for?
The Canvas Real Estate demo is for a solo agent, a small brokerage or a developer that lists its own stock, wants those listings to look designed, and captures enquiries by form. The Real Estate demo ships 9 pages, including three home page designs, a listing page, a services page, a builders page, an about page with the team and a blog with 5 posts.
Can a developer use it to sell a single building?
That is what the second Canvas demo is for. Harrington Residences sells 4 residence types off the plan, each a record carrying its size, its price, the bedrooms, the aspect, the levels and the deposit terms, with pages for the amenities, the neighbourhood, the timeline and the developer, plus a register-interest form.
How many websites does one licence cover?
A Canvas licence on Starter costs $39 a year and covers 3 websites; Pro covers 10 and Agency 100. Every plan includes every demo and every block; the plans differ by seats, AI credits and the Agency plan's multisite activation.
Put your listings online with Canvas
One licence covers every demo and every block. Import the real estate demo from the setup wizard, then put your own properties and photographs in its place.
